European Youth Parliament Serbia (EYPS) is founded in 2006 as part of the network of non-profit NGOs in 35countries in Europe. All the members are either high school or university students bellow the age of 25. Main goals of the organisation include raising awareness about current social, political and cultural issues, as well as promoting democracy and initiative among young people through informal and innovative education methods. Further, EYPS encourages its members to exchange knowledge with other young people all over Europe, throughdiverse activities and events, among which most significant are the 3 International Sessions annually. These sessionsresemble working format of the European Parliament in Brussels and are supervised by the EYP Office in Berlin(www.eyp.org), supported by the Heinz Schwartzkopf Foundation. EYPS is successfully sending delegations to the International Sessions since its foundation; delegates are chosen according to their English and French skills, ability towork in teams and knowledge about current issues at a National Session, which simulates International Session in a shorter time frame. National Sessions take place once a year with a strong international officials' participation. So far we worked with around 25 high schools in Belgrade, Niš, Novi Sad and the surrounding, and provided opportunities for little over 2000 high school students to join the organisation. Also, since last year Round of Preliminary Sessions is introduced to help delegates grasp concepts of team work, debate and public speaking, as well as ensure the quality of their performance at national and other session. EYPS is governed by the Board, consisted of 7 experienced members, lead by the President, Vice-president and Secretary. In addition, Assembly of 18 members and 3 Local Coordinators from Belgrade, Niš and Novi Sad have a significant role in decision making process and activities. Their activities are democratic and transparent, and all the members of EYPS receive a monthly Newsletter.
