Dissertation
Subjects of dissertations can cover the entire spectrum of leisure and tourism management. As an example of what can be successfully covered, here is a short list of past subjects:

The dissertation is realised in collaboration with a personal supervisor and gives the student the opportunity to research in depth a subject of his/her interest. The research may be conducted in a "real life" environment, allowing for the immediate interconnection of theory and practice.
Employment opportunities
The profession covers a wide variety of specializations, including tourism, hotel and hospitality, entertainment, sports and recreation, countryside, art, and culture and heritage management. It is closely related to many other careers, such as planning, business management, marketing and teaching. Students who have successfully completed the programme will be qualified to pursue a successful career in the leisure and tourism industry.
Full time study
The full time MSc in Leisure and Tourism Management is completed in one year and divided in two parts: one taught part (nine months) and one research part (three months).
Semester 1: October - January
Semester 2: February - June
Dissertation: July - September
Part time study
The MSc in Leisure and Tourism Management is also offered part-time, over a period of two years. Lectures are usually held twice a week during evening hours.
Degree Title
Successful graduates are awarded the postgraduate degree from the University of Sheffield: Master of Science in Leisure and Tourism Management. The title is awarded directly by the University of Sheffield.
