INDONESIAN GOVERNMENT OFFERED "DARMASISWA" SCHOLARSHIP
Indonesia and Serbia relations have been long established since the time of Yugoslavia. The two countries support bilateral relations in political, economic, social and security fields. In order to promote people-to-people contact of both countries, Indonesian government annually offers scholarship to Serbian nationals.
The scholarship is a non-degree program called Darmasiswa which is offered to 75 countries and every year receives remarkable response from students all across the world to study at 45 higher education institutions.
The Darmasiswa is offered to all foreign students which have diplomatic relationship with Indonesia to study Bahasa Indonesia, arts, music and crafts. The program is organized by the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
The main purpose of the Darmasiswa program is to promote and increase the interest in the language and culture of Indonesia among the youth of other countries. It has also been designed to provide stronger cultural links and understanding among participating countries.
Darmasiswa RI Program holds three program:
The scholarship covers monthly allowance of Rp 2.000.000,00 (equals to 200 Euro) and free of tuition fee. Participant is advised to bring enough money in US dollar for unexpected additional expenses in Indonesia. Scholarship excludes air fare ticket of the participant to and from Indonesia. Application to this scholarship can be done through Indonesian Embassy in Belgrade or visit the website at: www.darmasiswa.diknas.go.id. Applicants should notify to the Indonesian Embassy before applying online. Deadline to submit application to this scholarship is mid February 2012 to the Indonesian Embassy in Belgrade.
Last year, 10 Serbian nationals are accepted for this scholarship to study Indonesian language, culture, art and other studies. With the short deadline of application of both scholarships, we invite students in Serbia to contact the Indonesian Embassy in Belgrade for further documents preparations.
