Mission and goals
The great variety of tasks a Mechanical Engineer will face during his/her career requires, from the educational point of view, to achieve a thorough preparation in the design, building, installing and optimising of plants and machinery, their actuation and related services. Thus, in the educational process great attention is paid to technical preparation in the fundamental areas of mechanics in order to allow to quickly adapt to different professional requirements.
The course provides for the following specialisations:
- Milano Bovisa: Plant and Production - Innovative Materials and Technologies - Mechatronics and Robotics - Virtual Prototyping Methods and Techniques - Engines and Turbomachinery - Design - Terrestrial Vehicles
- Lecco (the programme is inEnglish): Mechanical Systems Design - Industrial Production
- Piacenza: Machines Tools and Production Systems
The graduate student has a wide range of possibilities to develop his/her professional activity in various industrial sectors. In particular, he/she has the background to carry out complex projects in the mechanical field both from the functional, construction and energy point of view. Further opportunities, related to design, production and development of new technologies, measurement techniques and innovative materials, are offered by high-tech manufacturing industries and service providers. Last but not least, graduate students can find attractive employments also in Public Administrations or Research Institutes.
